3 months

So today marks our little Addy's three month mark. She is getting so big and gaining such a little diva personality. She is now saying so many "words". Her and I will have little conversations every day. It's so cute, to me, that she will lay on my lap and sit there squeaking to me and smiling. I never thought that I would say that my fun for the day was me squeaking. I absolutely love how vocal and lively she is. She makes me want to wake up every morning just so that I can see her and be with her. I love every chance that I get to hold her and cuddle her as well as to just plain sit and stare at her. She is getting better at sleeping in her cradle, and will sleep almost the entire night usually waking up around 6 or so in the morning. She doesn't like to sleep, so much, in her boppy anymore which means that mom's back has been a lot better not having to sleep out on the couch with her just so that she will sleep. She for a brief moment loved her new vibrating chair that her aunt Erika let us borrow, but now she doesn't like it so much. She still loves to swing in her swing and play with her birdies on the mobile. She has now discovered the mirror on the mobile and will sit and squeak at herself. It's the cutest thing ever! She also is starting to like rattles and will sit intently for quite a while watching mom or dad shake a rattle watching it move and looking at it's bright colors. She is still having issues with me having any kind of dairy, but it is getting better. I introduced a little bit of milk into my day a couple of weeks ago, and she didn't have massive gas pains like she used to have, but she still had the runs pretty bad. So hopefully soon mom can go back to having dairy when her digestive system can fully handle it. I know that I said this last post, but I never thought I would have been able to love something so much. I will do anything for her.
Speaking of anything... I started back to work last week, and it was the hardest thing that I think I have ever had to do. I was an emotional mess the entire week I was on. I'm sure that the other grave tech (a man) was loving my "emotionalness" and couldn't wait 'till our seven off started just so he could have a break from his crazy coworker. I hate the fact that I have to leave my baby every night. I cried every night driving into work, and my other co-workers learned to not talk about the subject or else they would have a bawling mess on their hands. I definitely have a new found gratefulness to my seven days off now. Also because I am having such a hard time being a working mom I am trying to find everything and anything that will make it so that I can stay home with my baby. Sooo I may have done something that I never thought I would ever do in this life time, but I was recently introduce to the world of Mary Kay by my friend. This girl, Kristin, needed some "faces" so that she could get closer to earning her Mary Kay car. I thought that it would be fun to have a Mary Kay facial done so I went. I didn't realize that this girl was around the same age as me until I arrived at her house. She then started talking to me about the only reason she joined was so that she could be home with her two kids, and still provide an income for her little family so that her husband didn't have to try and do it on his own. This of course intrigued me, but I was thinking that there would be no way I would be able to sell makeup since so many people that I know have given Mary Kay ladies such a bad name because they have been so pushy in past years even thought that's not how it is now with MK. Kristin, then invited me to go and listen to a presentation about Mary Kay and she would give me some free makeup if I went along with it being free dinner. I, of course, liked the word free in there plus it also helped her get closer to earning her car so I thought I would be nice and go. I went and it wasn't bad I just listened and now was more intrigued since there were other girls there that were doing MK to stay home with their kids. I asked any questions that I had and left. My mom went with me and we talked about it on the way home. I started to tell her that I would do it if I knew that I wasn't the sole income and didn't have to carry the health insurance, and that was the extent of me thinking about doing it. I kinda talked to Brock about it, but I still had the same reserved feelings about being the main income etc. I think that Kristin could tell that I was interested so she invited Brock and me to a free MK dinner at Bella's in North Ogden. We went and listened to a speaker talk about how she has made millions of dollars over 17 years of doing MK and how she was just like me in the fact that she never wore make up, wasn't very girly at all, and wanted to find a way to stay home with her kids. The dinner ended and on our way home Brock talked about how he thinks that I would be good at MK and this would be a way that I could stay home with Addy eventually, but if I did it now it would be a way for us to pay for another car. I liked the idea, but was still thinking that I don't want to burn myself out and be working too much with my regular job and then MK on top of that. Well while we were at the dinner Brock got a call about an interview for a forensics job in Mesa, AZ. WAHOO!!! Plus he has also a high possibility of getting a FT job at the place that he works now and with benefits and perks and everything else be making quite a bit of money. With all this I was put at ease about me staying as the main income for a while. SOOOO I decided to do the craziest thing ever and become a MK lady!!!! I know I know I'm super crazy, but with what I've seen so far of it, it's like a glorified relief society, plus I get to dress up and be all pretty and socialize with other women at least once a week. :)
Anywho, so things have been a little crazy for us lately, but I'm grateful for it all. Wow! I never imagined that so many things would happen like this in only three months! I wouldn't change any of it for the world and like I said before I will do anything for my precious little girl even it that means becoming a crazy MK lady :). Two Months Old! (11 Days ago :) )

Addy is growing way too fast for her own good. She has officially grown out of her newborn outfits, but can still wear most of her NB onesies. She is smiling like crazy and has started her squeaks. Her little legs are getting a lot chubbier and her new thing is to stand up big and tall and put her arms behind her like she's trying to be more arrow dynamic.
She had her two month appointment on the 14th and unfortunately had to get her first round of shots. She was a trooper though and didn't cry for very long after. I hate being in the room and holding her down listening to her broken hearted little cry and having her look at me with such a sad look.
These are her battle wounds from getting poked with big needles three times :(
Here are her two month stats:
Length: 21 1/2 inches-20th percentile
Weight: 10 lbs 2.5 oz.-30th percentile
Head circumference: 37.7 cm-25th percentile
Her doctor said that she was doing great and is very strong already. She wrote for a prescription for some vitamins for her since she is only strictly breast feeding she doesn't get the amount of vitamins she needs. I went and got them and opened them up to give them to her and just the smell was enough to make me sick! All the did, it seems, is crush up multivitamins and put some water in with them. Addy isn't too keen on them either, but I think she's getting used to the fact that mom is going to still give it to her every day whether she likes it or not.
I'm loving all this time that I have been blessed with, with her. I love that I can tell what she wants almost 100% of the time just by how she cries or wiggles. She has a new chair that plays music and vibrates and she absolutely loves it. She will sit in it all day and watch mom make all her new bows for her. Sometimes though she gets exhausted and falls asleep.
As you can see her double chin is growing quite well. She has the chubbiest face, and I love it. She pulls this face where she puts her head down so her double chin shows and squishes her cheeks down. It's the funniest thing ever!
I'm getting excited to be able to start taking her outside and going for more walks with her. All of her adventures thus far have consisted of going with mom to Hobby Lobby or grocery shopping. She's such a good baby and will sit in her car seat silently, making a squeak every once in a while, but never has she thrown a fit. She is a very good baby, and I love that about her. She does have her moments where she gets impatient, but most of those are when she's getting lotion put on after her bath. We are working on less screaming with that and progress is good so far.
Today we had a busy day with shopping and lots of pictures for her photo shoot. Surprisingly she was very good through it all for not really taking a nap all day today. New pics posted soon :)

It's been a while since the last update... Things have been wonderful. I am loving every minute with my baby. She is changing and doing more things every day. a couple of weeks ago she started smiling and recognizing her mommy and daddy. I love when she wakes up and looks up at me and smiles. I love love love all of the little moments that are happening in her life and I'm glad that I get to be part of it. She has officially grown out of her first set of newborn clothing. Dad put her in this outfit today, and it doesn't fit so well anymore :(
She still fits into the newborn onesies, but the rest of the clothing doesn't fit so much anymore. She is starting to get rolls and fat everywhere which is the cutest thing in the world. Here are some little quirks about little Addy:
-Loves to sit in her swing and watch her "friends" twirl around on the mobile
-Hates to lie flat and has to be sitting up somewhat to fall asleep.
-Loves to be held
-Hates to be put down even if she has fallen asleep and is out cold she will wake up 90% of the time
-Loves to sleep in her Boppy
-Hates when mom eats dairy :(
-Loves to grunt. Her biggest grunts are when she is pooping. Yes very lady-like I know!
-Hates to be held sitting still. She needs to be rocked, bounced, or patted.
-Loves Boobies... TMI? well it's not hard to miss when you see her fattness forming everywhere on her :)
-Thinks it funny to straighten her legs out and not bend them for anything when mom or dad is trying to change her diaper and clean out all of her rolls.
-Loves playing in the bath
-Hates getting lotion put on her after the bath
ANNND she loves to smile at her momma...
There are so many things about her that makes me fall in love more and more with her every day. She has the cutest little sneezes and very dramatic coughs. It's for sure the cutest thing ever. Is it sad that I like to see her cough because it's so cute? Don't take it the wrong way if she was coughing because she was sick I would be devastated, but when it's a cough because she has a tickle in her throat it's very cute. Her little yawns are adorable, and I'm thinking it's because her cheeks are so squishy and big that it makes it that much cuter when she yawns. :)I sit and watch her sleep and think of what a miracle it is to have her in my life. The miracle that she started out as cells and now she is here holding my finger sucking on a binky breathing on her own.I marvel at the fact that she is so perfect. I love being a mom and wouldn't take it back for anything. I love waking up with her at 2 in the morning to feed her and it's just me and her. I love sitting and talking to her telling her about her new world and all of the many things that I am going to teach her. I love that when she is fussing while someone else is holding her and they give her back to me she stops crying because she knows that her mom has her now. She is my entire world. There were several people that told me that I will never know what it's like to love something so much until you have your own child. I now know exactly what they were talking about. I never in a million years thought that I would love this little person already in just 8 weeks. I thought that I would go insane being home all day long, but now that it has happened I wouldn't change it for the world. I love that I am able to get to know which cry means what and which grunt as well. She is getting so big so fast and although I am home and with her almost 24/7 it feels like these stages in her life are going way too fast. I feel like I don't have enough time to sit and actually enjoy them before they are already gone. I hope that it will slow down just a little for me.

The time has come....

So it's been a while since I blogged. It's been a little busy for us that started literally the next day after I blogged last. I went to the perinatologist appointment that I had on the 13th. They did an extensive ultrasound to make sure that the babywas healthy and that all of her organs and everything was there and formed correctly. That was pretty cool to see and a relief to see that she was all there limbs and all. Then the perinatologist came in and did another quick ultrasound. When he gotdone with that he gave me the options that were ahead of me. I had slim to no amniotic fluid left, and the umbilical cord was wrapped around the baby's neck with only a small pocket of amniotic fluid keeping it from being wrapped around her neck tight. He told me that there was no way that they would be able to do an ECV and he isn't willing to do the supplement amniotic fluid since I was full term and it would be better to just take the baby. He said that he could still try to do the ECV, but that there were more risks than anything with doing it. Sooo that wasn't an option. The next option was to just sit and wait to see if she still turns in the next two weeks on her own, but the likelihood of that happening was also not likely to happen plus that leaves the risk of the baby going into stress because the umbilical cord was around her neck and could tighten if the sac of fluid went away that was there. That made that not an option either. By this point I wasstarting to feel anxious and scared. I wanted my baby to be ok, and I was to the point that I didn't care how they made it happen I wanted it done. The last option was to doa c-section sooner rather than later. He wanted to send me over to labor and delivery to do another stress test to make sure that the baby was still doing ok and in the mean time he was going to contact my OB and tell him what was going on. So I headed over to L&D for the stress test. About 20 minutes into the test the nurse came in and told me that they were going to bedoing the c-section at 5 that evening. She kept coming in and out of the room checking the monitor. Then about 15 minutes later she came back and said that they moved the c-section up to 3:30. They wouldn't tell me why, but I had a feeling that there was a lot more worrying than was led on by my nurse. The best part was they wouldn't let me go home so that I could get everything packed. I had a lot of my bag packed, but I didn't have any of my toiletries. When I called Brock he was really surprised and left work as soon as he could. He hurried and went home and grabbed my bag, and didn't pack anything other than mytoothbrush. Yeah that was pretty interesting not having things.
3:30 rolled around and they wisked me and Brock
away to the operating room and started prepping me right away. The spinal that I had was really weird, and I've decided that I don't ever want to
be paralyzed because I couldn't move my feet or legs even when I was telling them to move. It was very frustrating. After the anesthesia kicked in they started cutting and about ten minutes later baby Addy was out and more beaut
iful than ever.
By 4 o'clock we were back in the room with my baby finally in my arms. I am so happy to finally have my baby in my arms. She is a wonderful joy and I love to already see her personality coming through. She is slowly getting better with nursing, and the sleeping through the night is coming now that I have figured out what has been giving her such bad gas bubbles. It's funny when she does have gas because she lets out the biggest grunt when she's trying to poop or toot. It makes us laugh pretty hard.
Her two week appointment:
At 13 Days old on January 26, 2011
Length: 191/2 Inches... 20th percentile
Weight: 6 lbs 6.5 oz... 5th percentile
Head circ: 34.5 cm... 15th percentile
She's itty bitty, and I love it. She is so fun, and so perfect. I'm so excited to me her mommy and to raise her. There is only fun from this point forward. :)
On a sad note though; the same day as Addyson's two week appointment I received the sad news that my childhood dog was dying and he was needing to be put down. I went over to see him and say goodbye. It was so sad for me to see my dog in the state that he was in. He could no longer use his back legs and would drag himself around. It was such a shock to all of us since he was just fine 4 days earlier. It was sad because other than him not being able to walk he was still the happy puppy that he has been for the past 17 years. It was such a sad day for me, but I know that my puppy is in such a better place and is a lot happier now.
I love you Jacob and I will miss you. You were such a wonderful dog and the best running and hiking companion. You were the happiest and friendliest dog. I loved how you would smile and prance around. You were a member of our family and I will always remember all of the great memories I have with you.
I also found out on the 25th that my good friend that I work with died the night before. She was an amazing woman that was changing her life doing everything right. She was beautiful and had the most amazing personality. She always made everyone smile and was always cheerful. I'm glad that she had the chance to meet our little girl because she was so excited to see her. She loved kids, and I wish she had a chance to be around for Addy to grow up. Nikki Jo you have made me a better person and I hope that one day I can make an impact in people's lives like you did. I love you and will miss you my friend.
Now here are some photos of my precious baby:

Update

So I went to my 38 week appointment yesterday thinking that everything is hunky dory and it would be a regular visit with him checking me is all. Well to my amazement things didn't turn out the best. When the nurse took my blood pressure she usually says looking good, but this time she didn't say anything. I kinda knew that I felt different because when I was shaving my legs in the shower that morning they were EEEXTRA massive. SOOO I knew that I was retaining water, but I didn't think that it would result in the apt that I had. The Dr. came in the room and told me that I was boarder line pre-eclamptic because of my blood pressure level, but luckily I wasn't secreting any protein in my urine which was a good sign. He then told me that we should probably look to be scheduling a day to have her. I asked him about supplement amniotic fluid and if he knew anything about that. He told me no and asked what is it used for. I told him that they do it for women that have lower levels of amniotic fluid and breech babies so that they can turn the babies instead of having a c-section. He told me that he had never heard of that, but he could set up an appointment for me to see a perinatologist and see what he can do about that. He then told me that he wanted to take a look and see how much amniotic fluid I do have so we transferred into the ultrasound room. When everything was ready and we started looking at the U.S it showed that I had even less amniotic fluid than last time we did a U.S. I started to ask why this was the case, and if it was something that I did. He told me no, that some women lose their fluid faster than others once the placenta stops producing it in the final weeks of pregnancy. I asked if this was OK for the baby, and he said that lower levels don't harm babies, but with my levels we need to start worrying about her possibly getting a prolapsed cord. He then told the nurse that he wanted to do a stress test on the baby to make sure that everything was for sure alright. This started to scare me into thinking that when he listened to her heartbeat before he heard something that he didn't like. So the whole time in the stress test I was a nervous wreck and tried my very hardest to hold back my fear and tears. Thankfully, the stress test came back normal. So now we have to wait to see what the perinatologist can do. If he can't do anything then I'm hoping that we will have a baby by the end of the week via c-section.
